EC president pledges to support Burma’s peace process

The president of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, said the EU has provided 700,000 Euros in set-up costs for the Myanmar Peace Centre (MPC), and said the EU will follow that up with “a sizable package later this year,” as part of a plan to contribute some 30 million Euros to Burma’s peace process over the following year.

Kachin Youth Hold Peace Conference

Kachin youth held a conference near Myitkyina over the weekend to discuss peace in Burma’s war-torn most northwestern state. According to the organizers the conference was the first of its kind since fighting between Burma's military and the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) erupted last year.

မြန္ျပည္သစ္ ဖြဲ႔စည္းပံုတြင္ ကေလးစစ္သားဆိုင္ရာ နည္းဥပေဒမ်ား ေရးဆြဲမည္

ကေလး စစ္သား အသံုးမျပဳေရးႏွင့္ ပတ္သက္သည့္ အက်ယ္တဝင့္ နည္းဥပေဒမ်ားအား ပါတီဖြဲ႔စည္းပံု၌ ေရးဆြဲ ျပ႒ာန္းသြားရန္ စီစဥ္ေဆာင္႐ြက္ေနေၾကာင္း မြန္ျပည္သစ္ ပါတီ MNSP မွ ထုတ္ေဖာ္ေျပာၾကားလိုက္သည္။

သုဝဏၰဘူမိ မြန္ၿမိဳ႕ဟု မြန္သမိုင္းပညာရွင္မ်ား ဆို

ေရွးေဟာင္းသုေတသနဌာနမွ သထုံေဒသရွိ သမီးေတာ္ကုန္းကို ႏိုဝင္ဘာ လကုန္ပိုင္းတြင္ျပန္လည္ တူးေဖာ္ေတာ့မည္ ျဖစ္ၿပီး ၎မွ ရရွိသည့္ သုေတသန ျပဳခ်က္ျဖင့္သာ သုဝဏၰဘူမိသည္ မည္သည့္ ၿမိဳ႕ျပႏိုင္ငံ ျဖစ္သည္ကို ဆုံးျဖတ္သင့္ေၾကာင္း သမိုင္း သုေတသီမ်ားက ေျပာဆိုလိုက္သည္။

တြံေတးတြင္ KPP မွ အစိုးရ၏ ၿငိမ္းခ်မ္းေရးလူထုေထာက္ခံပြဲျပဳလုပ္ခဲ့

ၿငိမ္းခ်မ္းေရး ဆံုးျဖတ္ခ်က္မ်ားအေပၚ လူထုေထာက္ခံပြဲ အခမ္းအနားတစ္ရပ္ကို ရန္ကုန္တိုင္း တြံေတးၿမိဳ႕ရွိ ဘိုးဘြားရိပ္သာခန္းမတြင္ ကရင္ျပည္သူ႔ပါတီ-KPP အဖြဲ႕၀င္မ်ားႏွင့္ ဖြဲ႕စည္းထားသည့္ ကရင္သဟာ ယလူႀကီးမ်ား (မဟာရန္ကုန္) အဖဲြ႕က ေအာက္တိုဘာလ ၃ ရက္ေန႔မနက္ ၁၀ နာရီေက်ာ္မွ ၁၁ နာရီခြဲအထိ က်င္းပျပဳလုပ္ခဲ့သည္။

သုဝဏၰဘူမိ စာတမ္းဖတ္ပြဲစတင္က်င္းပ

ေမာ္လၿမိဳင္တကၠသိုလ္က ႀကီးမွူး၍ ေရႊအဆင္းဝင္းေသာသုဝဏၰဘူမိ ပထမအႀကိမ္စာတမ္းဖတ္ပြဲကို မြန္ျပည္နယ္၊ ေမာ္လၿမိဳင္ၿမိဳ႕ရွိ ျပည္နယ္ခန္းမေဆာင္၌ ေအာက္တုိဘာလ (၃) ရက္ေန႔ နံနက္ ၈ နာရီအခ်ိန္က စတင္ က်င္းပခဲ့သည္။

ရွမ္းျပည္နယ္ ေျမာက္ပုိင္း စစ္ပြဲမ်ားေၾကာင့္ ေရႊ႕ေျပာင္းလာခဲ့ရေသာ ပေလာင္ ဒုကၡသည္ ၂,ဝဝဝ ေက်ာ္အတြက္ စားနပ္ရိကၡာ အေရးေပၚ လုိအပ္ေနၿပီး အမ်ိဳးသမီးမ်ားအေပၚ ဒုကၡသက္ေရာက္မႈမွာ စိုးရိမ္ဖြယ္ရာ ျဖစ္ေနသည္ဟု ပေလာင္ အမ်ဳိးသမီးအစည္းအ႐ုံး PWO က ထုတ္ေဖာ္ေျပာဆိုလိုက္သည္။
