ခ်န္ခဲ့တဲ့ စာလံုးတစ္လံုး ဒါမွမဟုတ္ စာလံုးမ်ားရဲ႕ေနရာမွာ Apostrophe အမွတ္အသား ( ' )ကို ထားဖို႔ကို သတိထားပါ။ ၄င္းေနရာသည္ စာလံုးႏွစ္လံုးကို ဆက္တဲ့ေနရာျဖစ္ၿပီး အၿမဲတသမတ္တည္း မဟုတ္ပါ။
*(it is လို႔ အဓိပၸါယ္ရေသာ) it's ႏွင့္ ပိုင္ဆိုင္မႈျပနာမ္စား its တို႔ကို မေရာေထြးပါႏွင့္။
ဥပမာ
It's the first day of spring. (ဒါဟာ ေႏြဦးရဲ႕ ပထမဦးဆံုးေန႔ ျဖစ္တယ္ ) Our bird escaped from its cage. (ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ငွက္ဟာ ၄င္း၏ ေလွာင္အိမ္ထဲက ထြက္ေျပးသြားတယ္။)
2. ဧက၀ုစ္နာမ္တစ္ခုသည္ 's' ျဖင့္ ဆံုးသည္ျဖစ္ေစ၊ မဆံုးသည္ျဖစ္ေစ ၄င္း၏ ပိုင္ဆိုင္မႈကို ျပရန္ Apostrophe ကို 's' ျဖင့္ တဲြသံုးပါ။
ဥပမာ
3. ဗဟု၀ုဒ္နာမ္အမ်ားစု၏ ပိုင္ဆိုင္မႈကို ျပရန္ Apostrophe ကို 's' မပါဘဲ သံုးပါ။
's' ျဖင့္ အဆံုးသတ္ေသာ ဗဟု၀ုဒ္နာမ္၏ ပိုင္ဆိုင္မႈကို ျပရန္အတြက္ Apostrophe ကို ပဲ ထည့္ပါ။
4. နာမ္ႏွစ္ခု သို႔မဟုတ္ ႏွစ္ခုထက္ပိုေသာ နာမ္မ်ားက တစ္မ်ိဳးတည္းေသာ အရာကို ပိုင္ဆိုင္ထားပါက Apostrophe ကို 's' ျဖင့္ တဲြသံုးပါ။
နာမ္ႏွစ္ခု (သို႔) ႏွစ္ခုထက္ပိုေသာ နာမ္မ်ားက တစ္ခုတည္းေသာ အရာကို ပိုင္ဆိုင္ေနပါက စာရင္း၌ပါေသာ ေနာက္ဆံုး နာမ္တြင္ Apostrophe ကို 's' ႏွင့္ တဲြသံုးပါ။
5.ပိုင္ဆိုင္မႈျပနာမ္စားမ်ားတြင္ Apostrophe အသံုးမျပဳပါႏွင့္။
ပိုင္ဆိုင္မႈျပနာမ္စားမ်ားသည္ ပိုင္ဆိုင္ေၾကာင္းျပၿပီးသားျဖစ္၍ ၄င္းတို႔တြင္ Apostrophe ကို ထည့္ရန္ မလိုပါ။
ဒါေပမဲ့လည္း တခ်ိဳ႕ေသာ သာမည နာမ္စား (indefinite pronouns)၏ ပိုင္ဆိုင္မႈကို ျပရာတြင္ apostrophe ကို 's' ႏွင့္ တဲြ၍ အသံုးျပဳပါသည္။
