လူတစ္ေယာက္ရဲ႕မ်က္လံုးမွာ အရည္ေတြရွိပါတယ္။ အဲဒီအရည္ေတြပာာ အ၀င္နဲ႔အထြက္
မွ်တေနရပါတယ္။ အဲလိုမွ်တေနရာကေနျပီး အထြက္လမ္းေၾကာင္းတစ္ေနရာမွာ
ပိတ္ဆို႔ျပီး မ်က္လံုးထဲမွာ ဖိအားေတြမ်ားလာပါတယ္။ အဲဒီ ဖိအားေတြက
မ်က္စိရဲ႕ အေၾကာေတြကို ထိခုိုက္ျပီး အျမင္အာရံု ခ်ိဳ႕ယြင္းတာကကို ေရတိမ္
(Glaucoma) လို႔ေခၚပါတယ္။
ေရတိမ္မွာ ၂မ်ိဳးရွိပါတယ္။

Open angle glaucoma။ ။ ဒီအမ်ိဳးအစားက တျဖည္းျဖည္းခ်င္းျဖစ္လာတတ္ပါတယ္။
အစပိုင္းမွာ ဘာလကၡဏာမွမျပဘဲ မ်က္စိအျမင္အာရံုရုတ္တရက္ ထိခိုက္သြားေတာ့မွ
သိရပါတယ္။ လူနာပာာ တျဖည္းျဖည္းခ်င္းအျမင္ခ်ိဳ႕ယြင္းလာတာကို သတိမထားမိဘဲ
ေနာက္ဆံုးလံုး၀အျမင္ကြယ္သြားမွ သိပါတယ္။ ဒီအမ်ိဴးအစားကို အျမင္အာရံု
သူခိုးလို႔ေခၚပါတယ္။
Closed angle glaucoma။ ။ဒီအမ်ိဳးအစားကေတာ့ ရုတ္တရက္ျဖစ္တဲ့
အမ်ိဳးအစားျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ သူကမ်က္စိတစ္ဖက္တည္းမွာ ျဖစ္ေလ့ရွိျပီး လူနာက
နီ၊မွဳန္၊ကိုက္ နဲ႔ေရာက္လာတတ္ပါတယ္။ မ်က္လံုးပာာ နီလဲနီပါတယ္။
မ်က္စိအာရံုလည္းထိခိုက္ေနပါတယ္။ ဒါ့အျပင္သူက နာပါတယ္။ အဲဒီ၃မ်ိဳးနဲ႔
လကၡဏာျပပါတယ္။

ေရတိမ္ပာာ ေအာက္ပါလူေတြမွာ ပိုျပီးျဖစ္တတ္ပါတယ္။
Age over 45 years (အသက္ ၄၅ႏွစ္ေက်ာ္သူေတြ)Family history of glaucoma
(မိသားစုမ်ိဳးရိုးထဲမွာ ေရတိမ္ရွိတဲ့သူေတြ)Black racial ancestry
(လူမည္းေတြ)Diabetes (ဆီးခ်ိဳေရာဂါရွင္ေတြ)History of elevated
intraocular pressure History of injury to the eye
(မ်က္စိကိုထိခိုက္မိသူေတြ)Use of cortisone (steroids), either in the
eye or systemically (orally or injected) (steroid ပါတဲ့ေဆးေတြကို
အသံုးျပဳသူေတြ) ေရတိမ္ကို အထက္မွာေဖာ္ျပထားတဲ့၂မ်ိဳးအျပင္
အျခားအမ်ိဳးအစားေတြလည္း အမ်ားၾကီးခြဲထားပါေသးတယ္။ အဲဒီအမ်ိဳးအစားေတြကေတာ့
အမ်ားၾကီးသိရန္ မလိုအပ္တဲ့အတြက္ ခ်န္လွန္ထားခဲ့ပါတယ္။

ေရတိမ္ကိုကုသရာတြင္ ေဆးျဖင့္ကုသျခင္း၊ ခြဲစိတ္ျခင္းႏွင့္
ေလဆာသံုးျပီးကုသျခင္းဆိုျပီးေတာ့ ၃မ်ိဳးရွိပါတယ္။  ခြဲစိတ္ျခင္းႏွင့္
ေလဆာအသံုးျပဳျခင္းတို႔ကို တြဲျပီးလုပ္တတ္ပါတယ္။
ေဆးျဖင့္ကုသရာမွာ အထက္မွာ ေဖာျ္ပထားသလိုပဲ ေရတိမ္က အထြက္မွာ
အရည္လမ္းေၾကာင္းပိတ္လို႔ ဖိအားမ်ားျပီးျဖစ္တာဆိုေတာ့ အရည္ထြက္တာကို
ပိတ္တဲ့ေဆးနဲ႔၊ အထြက္လမ္းေၾကာင္းပိတ္တာကို တားဆီးတဲ့ေဆးဆိုျပီး ရွိပါတယ္။
အမ်ားအားျဖင့္အသံုးျပဳတာေတာ့ မ်က္စိထဲ့ေဆး Pilocarpine ဒါမွမပာုတ္
Timolol ကိုိသံုးပါတယ္။ ထပ္မံျဖည့္စြက္တဲ့ေဆးေတြကေတာ့ Adrenaline,
Propine တို႔ႏွင့္အတူ Acetazolamide ကို ေသာက္ေဆးအေနနဲ႔သံုးပါတယ္။
ေနာက္ပိုင္မွာ ထပ္ထြက္တဲ့ ေဆးအသစ္ေတြလည္းအမ်ားအျပားရွိပါတယ္။ တကယ္လို႔
ေဆးနဲ႔ကုသတာက မသက္သာဘူးဆိုရင္ေတာ့ ခြဲစိတ္ျခင္းႏွင့္ ေလဆာတို႔ကို
အသံုးျပဳရပါတယ္။
ဒီေနရာမွာ အေရးၾကီးတာက Open angle glaucoma က တျဖည္းျဖည္းမွျဖစ္တာေၾကာင့္
ကုသရာမွာလည္း ခ်က္ျခင္းအေရးတၾကီးလုပ္စရာ မလုိပါဘူး။ ဒါေပမယ့္ Closed
angle glaucoma ကေတာ့ ရုတ္တရက္ျဖစ္တာေၾကာင့္ ျဖစ္တာနဲ႔ အေရးတၾကီး
ကုသရန္လိုအပ္ပါတယ္။

မ်က္လံုးေရတိ္မ္မျဖစ္ရန္ ကာကြယ္ရန္အတြက္ အသက္ ၄၀ေက်ာ္မ်ားႏွင့္
မ်ိဳးရိုးထဲတြင္ ေရတိမ္ရွိသူေတြအားလံုး ႏွစ္စဥ္ပံုမွန္ မ်က္လံုးရဲ႕
ဖိအားကို တိုင္းတာရပါမယ္။ မ်က္လံုးကို ထိခိုက္မိေစမယ့္ အျပဳအမူေတြကို
ေရွာင္ရပါမယ္။ ဆီးခ်ိဳကို မွန္မွန္ထိန္းရပါမယ္။

မ်က္လံုးတစ္ဖက္မွာ ေရတိမ္ျဖစ္ျပီဆိုရင္ ေနာက္တဖက္မွာ ၅ႏွစ္အတြင္း
ျဖစ္ဖို႔အတြက္ ၅၀ ရာခိုင္ႏွဳန္းရွိပါတယ္။ အဲဒါေၾကာင့္ မ်က္လံုးတစ္ဖက္မွာ
ေရတိမ္ျဖစ္ရင္ အျခားတစ္ဖက္ကိုပါ ေလဆာနဲ႔ၾကိဳျပီး ကုသမွဳခံယူထားသင့္ပါတယ္။
