Peace vs Burma military build-ups and clashes in central Shan State

Yesterday (12 March) fresh fighting between Shan State Progress Party / Shan State Army (SSPP/SSA) and Burma army occurred when the Burmese army opened fire at an SSPP/SSA soldier who left the base to fetch water near-by in Tangyan Township, northern Shan State. Afterward, Burma army continued its assault to overrun the SSA base and the fight continues until today, local sources said.

Illnesses affecting Rohingya children in unofficial camps in Bangladesh

Sicknesses are spreading among children living in the Kutupalong and Leda unofficial refugee camps. Anwer, a refugee committee member from Kutupalong makeshift camp, said that many children from ages 5 to 7 are getting sick with chicken pox, measles, pneumonia or coming down with fevers.
